Happy 2nd Birthday Alida!!!

Two years ago on March 8 my life changed forever. Our sweet little Alida was born. I never knew being a Mom would change my life the way it has, but all the sleepless nights and unwashed hair is so worth having this Sweet little lady in my life. Your Mommy and Daddy Love you Alida!

I should have taken pictures before church and spending the day at the car dealership! She LOVES Curious George so seemed only right to have a Curious George Birthday Party.

Alida loves it when Cinder plays with us, Cinder usually "pops" the balloon so now Alida yells "POP IT POP IT!!!" Until Cinder does eventually pops the balloon.

Our Brave Girl!!!

She was so BRAVE and didn't even cry when we started putting the wires on her.
I have to admit I think her movie "Monster's Inc." had a lot to do with her being so brave and not crying. She was glued to the TV!

Trying to figure out why she has so many wires attached to her! She was a trooper!
She woke up a lot and at 3:30am she decided enough was enough and she was NOT going back to sleep. So I talked with the tech and by 4:30 the tech decided that they had enough information and let us leave!

I've been a little down lately because Alida is having to under go a lot of tests again. I guess I got spoiled having a little time off from the doctors over the Holidays. Reality is setting in because she is scheduled for a lot over the next week, I feel both sad and a little overwhelmed, but when I see this smile I know it's all worth it. To keep this smile I'd do anything! I just wish I could be the one the testing was being done on instead of her, it's so hard to see her go thru it and be so scared.
Alida is so brave. Alida is one of the toughest little girls I know and it breaks my heart to see her scared and in any pain, but I know as a mother/nurse it's needed to make sure she is fine. So here we are again, the beginning of a new year and the beginning of more tests.
Alida is growing up so fast. It's hard because she knows what is going on now, she knows when she goes to the doctors that it means she is probably going to get an "owie" but she is also a strong girl and doesn't cry for too long(most days). I just hope this next month isn't too hard on her and I hope all the results are good.

Christmas 2010!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! This was our tree the night before Christmas all decked out with presents! Alida was a very good girl this year! These are not just from us most of them are from the Grand Parents!
Alida has always LOVED Blue's Clues. So it seemed fitting to get her a Blue's Clues friend! She got to open her on Christmas Eve.


She didn't even want to wait for everyone to be in the room to start opening presents, it's almost like she knew it was Christmas morning. We had told her the night before that she needed to go to bed so we could open the gifts tomorrow, but seriously what 21 month old is going to comprehend that and REMEMBER that? Well I swear she did first thing she did when she woke up was go straight to the tree and grab a present. It was pretty cute!
She needed very little help ripping the paper off this year! She will be a PRO by her birthday!

Alida also LOVES Curious George. Aunt Angie gave her a Curious George doll. Doesn't look like it in this picture but she LOVES it and carries it everywhere.
I think the Telephone her Grandma Mary gave her is the Winner as the favorite present this year! She LOVES it too!
