Christmas 2010!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! This was our tree the night before Christmas all decked out with presents! Alida was a very good girl this year! These are not just from us most of them are from the Grand Parents!
Alida has always LOVED Blue's Clues. So it seemed fitting to get her a Blue's Clues friend! She got to open her on Christmas Eve.

She didn't even want to wait for everyone to be in the room to start opening presents, it's almost like she knew it was Christmas morning. We had told her the night before that she needed to go to bed so we could open the gifts tomorrow, but seriously what 21 month old is going to comprehend that and REMEMBER that? Well I swear she did first thing she did when she woke up was go straight to the tree and grab a present. It was pretty cute!
She needed very little help ripping the paper off this year! She will be a PRO by her birthday!

Watching Daddy attempt to put together her Weeble Wobble Treehouse!

Weebles Wobble but the Don't fall down! But they do Slide!

Alida also LOVES Curious George. Aunt Angie gave her a Curious George doll. Doesn't look like it in this picture but she LOVES it and carries it everywhere.
I think the Telephone her Grandma Mary gave her is the Winner as the favorite present this year! She LOVES it too!

First fire in the fireplace!

First pile of wood that Aaron cut for us! Now it is Triple that size! It is so nice to be able to send him outside instead of to the store for firewood! I'm not sure he feels the same way though.
First fire in the New house! Thanks Aaron for all the hard work cutting that wood I love having the fires to snuggle up too!

Alida LOVES to just walk around outside. This is Aaron, Alida and Cinder walking down our driveway.

Our Home!

This is our house. Aaron has worked all summer pulling up bushes and weeds from the front of the house to make it look better.
This is a picture looking from the living room all the way into the dining room. There are no walls or obstacles for Alida's oxygen tubing to get caught up on.
This is the living room. There is a gas assisted fireplace to keep us warm! All the windows will eventually need to be replaced for more energy efficient ones but one update at a time!
The rest of the living room. You can see to the left of the picture the guest room doors. Currently they are French doors but we are working on moving them to the hall so we can move our furniture around in the living room better. The stairs on the right of the picture go up to the Loft. It's Huge with a ton of storage!
Second/Extra bedroom/Office. This is where you will be staying when you come visit! We try and keep it nice and clean all the time so feel free to stop by! :)
This is one of my favorite parts of the house the Kitchen. It's HUGE!
Looking into the dining room from the kitchen.
The dining room. We still need to decide and buy a kitchen table! This is just a folding table we are using for now!
Part of the "backyard".
This is the Front Yard or Front pasture. If you look close you can see our driveway how it winds up the side of the pasture.

21 MOnths old Today!

This is how I want my baby girl to stay.......SMALL!
I remember taking this picture like it was yesterday. Alida all curled up on her Daddy's chest sleeping....so sweet. This has always been one of my favorite pictures and memories of the two of them. I wish she could stay that little.

Wow! How time flies. Alida is 21 months old today. I've been so emotional the last few days about everything and today was no different. I cried because Alida "pottied" on the big girl potty TWICE today! I should be excited but instead I'm sad that she is "growing up"! I should be Happy we are one step closer to "no more diapers", but instead I want her to stay a baby. UUGGHH. I have to let her grow up it's going to happen whether or not I want her to so I guess I need to embrace this time of her life too!

Time to catch up!

So here it goes a little bit out of order but for the most part you should be caught up on our not so exciting life when your done!
Alida had a Cardiology appt Dec. 2, 2010 and the results are great. Her heart is showing no effects from her lung disease so far! Her heart looks Perfect the doctor said! So that is a true blessing. Most kiddos with Lung disease have some kind of pulmonary hypertension at some point in their life. The doctor seems to think Alida is not going to have that problem! So we are very pleased with that news!
After her appt. we dressed her up to go see Santa. I took some picture of her and the dogs too.

Alida LOVES her puppies!!!!! I decided since she was already dressed up to take some pics of her with the puppies. I think she had a great time but I'm not so sure about the dogs. She loves it anytime they sit next to her.

I think the picture says it all! She was terrified of Santa! But I think we might have got a good picture of her with him but you can plainly see the fear in her eyes!
One of Alida's new favorite things is to go "shopping" and carefully and neatly place the items on the kitchen table and around the dining room. It's fun to watch but it is getting a little tiring continuing to have to put groceries up every day over and over!

once in awhile she miss judges how tall the bottom shelf is and hits her head! Poor thing.
I make Christmas Mice every year instead of cookies! Okay I bake cookies too, but this is a tradition I've been doing for the last 5-6 years. Everyone seems to enjoy these cute little mice and this year was really fun because I had a helper! She made sure my hershey kisses and chocolate chips tasted just right!

This is Alida all bundled up ready to go outside and "help" us put up Christmas lights outside! It was one of the coldest days we have had in Georgia but it was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was really a lot of fun trying to figure out how to make our lights work on the new house!

Thanksgiving was great we relaxed and watched football while Aaron made his famous Grandpa's bread. We bought one of those "box dinners" so all I had to do was heat everything up! No cooking required! We usually put the Christmas Tree up Thanksgiving night but everyone was so tired and Alida ws still not feeling great we decided to wait. I did put some Christmas stuff up around the house!

Putting up the tree is one of my favorite things to do! I pulled everything from the attic and hauled it down stairs and was so excited because I thought for sure Alida would love it just as much as I do. Well I was wrong! Maybe she is just too young to understand yet but she had more fun taking the balls and decorations off than putting it on so I was a little disappointed until Aaron reminded me that she was only 20 months old! So maybe next year she will be able to "help" more!
